Paul Torday’s novel, The Girl on the Landing, is to be adapted by Julian Fellowes and produced by Robert Jones. Jones and Fellowes last teamed for Gosford Park.
The story is a psychological thriller/love story set in London and Scotland that follows a husband who is haunted by visions of another woman. His wife and friends insist she is not there and as his hallucinations continue, his relationship takes a strange turn.
Jones said: In many ways The Girl on the Landing is a modern take on Jekyll and Hyde, a tale of creeping menace that is profoundly disturbing. It keeps you forever on the edge of your seat.
