Renown Pictures release Blind Spot and Madame Louise

Renown Pictures release Blind Spot and Madame Louise.

Our first release for this month, is Madame Louise (aka The Madam Gambles – USA) starring Richard Hearne, Petula Clark. A typical Mr Pastry, with a mixture of the “littleman” and slapstick not unlike the late Norman Wisdom. The woman owner of a dress shop gambles the shop away to her bookie who inherits not only the shop but Mr Pastry (the manager) and his assistant Petula Clark. Roles are reversed in this caper and all ends well…

Our second title for this month is the long awaited release of Blind Spot This Butchers 1958 remake of the 1950film ‘Blackout’ produced by the prodigious pair of Baker and Berman who were later famous for “The Saint” there must be an interesting story as you would think Baker and Berman were in competition with Butchers! Directed by Peter Maxwell is a very watchable production. Robert Mackenzie as the blind American serviceman who does sound a bit like Sean Connery from time to time but is supported by Gordon Jackson, John Le Mesurier and no less than a very young Michael Caine. Very collectable with good restored picture and sound.
