Danny Boyle is set to return to his filmmaking roots with his next film project, Trance, a remake of Joe Ahearne’s 2003 TV movie,
The Oscar-winning director is tipped to begin shooting the tense thriller in London this September, about an art heist gone wrong. It has been suggested that the flick will have undertones of Boyle’s breakthrough films, Shallow Grave and Trainspotting.
An insider said: “The film will be in the mid-teen-budget range, which has proven to be Boyle’s wheelhouse.”
No casting details have been announced yet but Michael Fassbender is in talks to play the shady leader of a gang of thieves.
