Paul Bettany, Brian Cox attached to Nick Murphy’s ‘Blood’

Paul Bettany, Brian Cox and Stephen Graham are newly attached to Nick Murphy’s (The Awakening) next film, Blood, Bill Gallagher’s (The Prisoner) adaptation of his own BAFTA-nominated BBC TV series Conviction, about two policemen who kill a murder suspect and are then plunged into chaos when they are forced to investigate their own crime.

The UK-based shoot is set to get underway in January.

Neal Street producer Pippa Harris described the script as a “fast-moving, gripping thriller.”

Conviction aired on BBC in 2004 and was nominated for a BAFTA for Best Drama Series.

Murphy’s first feature, the Studio Canal, BBC Films and Origin Pictures-backed horror The Awakening debuted in Toronto. Murphy previously directed acclaimed 2009 TV war-drama Occupation, which won a BAFTA for Best Drama Serial.
