David Tennant

David Tennant was born David John McDonald in Bathgate, West Lothian on April 18, 1971.

David trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and is a well respected stage actor. His stage credits for the Royal Shakespeare Company include Touchstone in As You Like It, Romeo in Romeo and Juliet, Capt. Jack Absolute for The Rivals and the Prince of Denmark himself in Hamlet.

Displaying a range of characters Davidís made numerous dramas for the BBC including Taking over the Asylum (1994), He Knew He Was Right (2004), Blackpool (2005), Casanova (2005), Secret Smile (2005), Recovery (2007) Einstein and Eddington (2008) and Hamlet (2009).

It was his portrayal of the 10th Doctor in the BBC revival of Dr Who (2005-2009) that made him known worldwide.
