Born in Kuala Lumpur, Dulcie Gray went on to become a leading actress
in British films during the 1940s as a Gainborough star, appearing
in such films as A
Place of One's Own (1944), Madonna
of the Seven Moons (1944) and Mine Own Executioner (1947). Later
she appeared alongside her husband Michael
Denison in My Brother Jonathan (1948), The Glass Mountain (1949),
The Franchise Affair (1950), There Was a Young Lady (1953) and Angels
One Five (1953). Her film career was relatively short as before long
she switched to performing chiefly on the stage.
