John Le Mesurier

Fretful looking British actor who played dramatic roles at first. His characters were equally as harassed as those in the comic gloom-and-doom that enveloped him in films from the mid-1950s onwards. Later he became popular in the long-running BBC TV series Dad's Army. Married to Hattie Jacques from 1949 to 1965.
