Victor Saville

In partnership with Michael Balcon, Victor Saville set up a production company in 1923 and later became an important British director. His films were stylish and glossy, made in the manner of the better Hollywood product, and it is ironic that after his departure for the West Coast his work, while lush, was curiously empty.
