Plot Synopsis

Espionage intrigue and second in the popular “Duke” Martin British detective thriller series following on from Barbados Quest (1955). Set in cold war Germany, Johnny Matlock (Brian Worth)is unable to whisk Professor Dohlmann back to England due to ill-health, so instead returns with his secret formula. Matlock and his girlfriend Diane Grantare shanghaied at the roadside once back in England and infamous private detective Tom ‘Duke’ Martin chances upon the hold-up and vows to investigate what has taken place. The ‘Duke’ joins forces with Paula Grant (Honor Blackman) who is searching for her absent sister. The ‘Duke’ is approached by Webb, who believing the private eye possesses the formula, offers to pay whatever it takes for its return.
