Plot Synopsis

Car of Dreams

Robert (John Mills), the son and heir of the owner of a musical-instrument factory, is in love with Vera (Grete Mosheim), one of the more attractive female employees who work at the factory: neither knows about this side of the other’s life. Whilst window shopping one day, Vera goes into a car dealership and jokingly says that she would like to buy a Rolls-Royce, Robert observes her spirited demands and sees that she gets one in a bid to impress her. Then he raises her salary out of all proportion so that she will find out who he is. It is not long before romance blossoms between them, but Robert soon discovers that Vera is an employee at his father’s factory and tries to keep his true identity quiet. However, a secretary becomes intent upon exposing his secret.
