Plot Synopsis

Castle Sinister

Stiff wartime thriller with a muddled plot being only one of a number of chronic deficiencies. Based on the play Mark of Judas, this was the sole directorial outing of Oscar Burn, and the rookie helmer is joined by a cast of similarly deficient bit-part actors.

During the war, Army intelligence officer Captain Neale (James Liggat) travels to the remote Glennye Castle on the Scottish coast to investigate the murder of an officer by a masked phantom. The dead man was a counter-intelligence officer, and soon after his substitute goes missing. It quickly transpire that the shadowy phantom is the work of German agents closely related to an unwitting Lady Glennye (Mara Russell-Tavernan).
