Plot Synopsis

Creep

German actress Franka Potente is the femme-in-peril in this Anglo-German slasher set in the depths of the London Underground. This low-budget film evokes memories of Gary Sherman’s cult-classic Death Line (1972) but first-time writer-director Christopher Smith man fails to generate any style or tension from the clichéd story.

Dedicated career professional Kate (Franka Potente) leaves a sophisticated house party late one evening and heads to the London Underground to catch the last tube into town. Alone in the carriage, the train suddenly grinds to a halt without reason. Just as Kate investigates the reasons for her predicament a work colleague who had slipped on the train unnoticed attempts to rape her – until an unseen character drags him off her and into the dark of night. On the platform, Kate initially teams up with homeless Scotsman Jimmy (Paul Rattray), before subsequently joining apprentice sewer worker George (Vas Blackwood) in trying to escape the concealed killer in the bowels of the Underground.
