Plot Synopsis

Dance Pretty Lady

Jenny, a ballet dancer of the Edwardian era, falls in love with a wealthy young artist, Maurice, but refuses to become his mistress. He tells her that he does not believe in marriage and she becomes extremely unhappy. At length he offers to marry her, but Jenny now doubts whether she can be happy with him. Maurice decides to go abroad. Jenny, realising then that she loves him, waits vainly for his return. She comes to believe that Maurice has deserted her, and in a moment of loneliness becomes the mistress of his friend Danby. Afterwards, she regrets it. Eventually Maurice returns, hears of her affair with Danby, realises he was the cause of it, forgives her and offers her his love.
