Plot Synopsis

Jake West, director of low-budget Razor Blade Smile, moves more into the mainstream with Doghouse, a lad-centric tale of a bunch of Cockney mates who whilst taking a trip in the country run into a bunch of flesh-eating ‘Zombirds’. Accusations of laddish misogyny will haunt the f testosterone-fuelled Doghouse, but Dan Schaffer’s ironic script undercuts the film’s inherently sexist premise by making the male characters likeable, and chauvinistic males who simply don’t understand women. Geezer-in-chief Danny Dyer produces an agreeable self-mocking performance, whilst Stephen Graham and Noel Clarke introduce a degree of restraint to offset the silliness.

Heartbroken Vince (Stephen Graham) is handling his divorce badly. He’s depressed and falling to pieces. But his mates aren’t giving up on him. Struggling with their own women troubles, they drag him off for an ultimate lads drinking weekend in the country. Arriving in the remote village of Moodley where the women outnumber the men 4:1, the boys find themselves holidaying in a village overrun by psychotic, homicidal female zombies infected with a virus that makes them man-hating cannibals with a thirst for male flesh. with boys’ toys like remote control cars, golf balls and water pistols filled with nitro fluid.
