Plot Synopsis

Remake of a 1931 courtroom drama. Months after the death of her husband, Margaret (Elizabeth Allen) is suspected of his murder when a revolver and tins of weed-killer are discovered in her house. The local coroner, Knight (Herbert Lomas), is convinced she is guilty. Margaret’s future look bleak until the case is taken up by distinguished QC Stephen Neale (Hay Petrie), who by clever deduction exposes the unexpected truth.
