Love, Honour and Obey
Love, Honour and Obey – 2000 | 103 mins | Comedy, Crime | Colour
Plot Synopsis

After the critical and commercial failure of the self-indulgent Final Cut (1998), producers Dominic Anciano and Ray Burdis reunited the same ensemble cast and crew for this largely improvised London gangster flick. Whilst slightly better structured than their previous film this mockney gangster variation on Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998) fails to match the dialogue and wit of Guy Ritchie’s film.
Jonny (Jonny Lee Miller) dreams of leaving his dead-end job as a courier. Through his childhood best friend (Jude Law), nephew of the notorious crime lord Ray Kreed (Ray Winstone), he wins his way into the toughest gang in North London. Ray is more anxious about his impeding marriage to soap star Sadie (Sadie Frost) and karaoke Elvis impersonations than crime, but hungry for some real gangster action, Jonny sparks a feud between Ray’s gang and rival firm in South London headed by drug kingpin Sean (Sean Pertwee) and his sidekick Matthew (Rhys Ifans).
