Plot Synopsis

Short films became quite popular during the 1960s, and this entertaining comedy captured in vibrant Eastman Colour was produced and directed by b-movie veteran Francis Searle. Barbara Mullen is on fine form as a spirited woman who returns to her native village, only to discover she’s just died!
Jean Mactaggart returns hone from Glasgow to the small Scottish village of Kenmore, only to be greeted by the strangest looks from the startled locals. Jean discovers that whilst she was staying in Glasgow, her twin-sister visited Kenmore, passed away, and was mistakenly buried as Jean. When Miss Mactaggart attempts to correct the records, she comes up against a stubborn bureaucratic system that insists she is theoretically and legally dead.
When the police refuse to assist, a persistent Jean ventures on a mini crime-wave as vandal, public nuisance, poacher and thief, but her case is dismissed in court. Miss Mactaggart attempts to pursue a diplomatic line, but when she is rebuffed in Edinburgh – Jean travels to London. Whilst outside the Houses of Parliament, Jean overhears talk of Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder Plot.
