Plot Synopsis

Murder at the Grange

Short mystery tale originally made for television. Private detective Morley (Patrick Barr) is called to the Buckingshire family home of elderly spinster Cynthia Quelch (Grace Denbigh Russell) to investigate the murder of her father some years earlier. Morley is greeted at the mansion door by a recognizable criminal, Clarence Beacham (Tod Slaughter), who is masquerading as the family butler. Cynthia believes it was the work of her sister Agatha’s former fiancé, Richard Parker, and that he plans to kill the rest of the family.

However, the detective discovers that the fiancé died in America years earlier, and that the chief suspect was his valet Patrick Reilly. The police are called in when Cynthia is discovered murdered in her locked bedroom, and together with Morley they unravel the crime.
