Plot Synopsis

British quota-quickie crime thriller with a London background starring Skip Homeier and Paul Carpenter. Former Hollywood child actor Skip Homeier crossed the Atlantic to make this tough crime thriller and manages to give a good performance in his British screen debut. Character actress Margaret Rawlings excels and the supporting cast include Alfie Bass and SeanConnery in his feature film debut.
Nightclub owner, Mrs. Railton (Margaret Rawlings), maybe deaf and blind but beneath the veneer of respectability she is the fence for a gang of crooks. She uses the hot money to clear her debts and support her medical student son, John (Skip Homeier), through his studies in America. Out of theblue John reappears in England to visit his mother and fiancée Beth (Patricia Dainton), and is shocked to overhear both are involved in crime.
Following a botched diamond robbery in which a night-watchman is killed, the leader of the gang, Clem Hayes (Paul Carpenter), murders fellow crook,Rudge (Alfie Bass), who was about to squeal to the police. Mrs Railton declares that she intends to inform the police unless Clem confesses.
