Plot Synopsis

Flag-waving action adventure yarn with impressive battle scenes directed by American Raoul Walsh on a rare loan-out to the Gaumont-British studios.
Hunted for a murder he didn’t commit, small-time New York racketeer Jimmy (Wallace Ford) flees to England where he poses as a Canadian and ends up in the army. Wise-cracking Jimmy and Bert Dawson (John Mills) become love rivals for the sergeant’s beautiful daughter Sally (Anna Lee). When the regiment is posted to China to fight marauding bandits, Jimmy proves himself a hero in action but dies saving others, including Sally.
