Plot Synopsis

On the Twelfth Day

Nostalgic Oscar-nominated short designed by cartoonist Ronald Searle and humorously based on the famous Christmas carol. Wendy Toye, who directs, also stars as the recipient of the many gifts bestowed by her lover over the 12 days of Christmas.

Set in Victorian London, a lady patiently endures the ever-increasing disruption to her quiet household when her True Love gives her all the items from the song “The Twelve Days of Christmas.” Each day True Love arrives by bicycle, carriage or car, and whilst Miss Tilly is initially overjoyed at the attention, soon her house is overrun with people and pets, much to the exasperation of her butler.
