Plot Synopsis

Ooh, You Are Awful

Dick Emery gets the chance to portray his wide variety of comic characters from his popular 1970s TV series in this saucy cinematic romp.

Opening with the classic line “ooh… you are awful… but I like you!” Dick Emery stars in this camp comedy as cheeky London conman Charlie Tully who, after cheating the Mafia out of half a million pounds by means of a phoney wedding scam to Princess Anne, trusts his partner Reggie (Ronald Fraser) to stash the loot in a Swiss bank account. When Charlie discovers his freshly dead cohort has left the combination number of the account tattooed on the rear of four women, a cheeky undercover search begins on the shapely posteriors of the four, forcing Charlie to don a number of cunning disguises to get close enough for a peek at his attractive quarries.

Charlie tracks down the four, a British Rail announcer, a bride on her wedding day, an aristocratic lady and a policewoman. Using a variety of mischievous ruses he retrieves the bank numbers whilst all the time pursued by both the Mafia and local hood Sid Sabbath (Derren Nesbitt). The hunt continues on to Rome where Charlie offers the Mafia a deal.
