Plot Synopsis

Outpost

A darkly atmospheric and vicious supernatural low-budget horror that follows a group of world-weary mercenaries lain siege by ghostly Nazis. Director Steve Barker work wonders within tight budget constraints and garners a chilling atmosphere from the wooded Scottish location. Unfortunately the promising plot echoes Rob Green’s The Bunker (2001) and the eerie storyline is both underdeveloped and predictable.

Enigmatic businessman Hunt (Julian Wadham) hires jaded ex-Royal Marine DC (Ray Stevenson) and a six-strong squad of mercenaries for an unspecified operation into war torn Eastern Europe. The team escort him to a remote forest locale that Hunt has been commissioned to investigate. Their goal is a clunky Nazi experimental secret weapon in a disused military bunker dating back to WWII, but when they arrive, they discover a pile of corpses and one cadaverous, catatonic ‘breather’. The experiment was a gruesome failure, leaving behind an invincible legion of SS spectres.
