Plot Synopsis

Ravenous

Antonia Bird‘s stunning yet uncomfortable blackly comic tale of cannibalism set during the American-Mexican war. When Captain John Boyd (Guy Pearce) is banished to a desolate military outpost in the high Sierra Nevada mountains he meets Colqhoun (Robert Carlyle), a starving Scot who claims to be the sole survivor from a group of settlers that were snowbound, and forced to seek refuge in a cave. In order to stave off starvation, Colqhoun claims the settlers resorted to cannibalism. Answering the call of duty, the camp commander, Colonel Hart (Jeffrey Jones), insists that his ramshackle band of men form a search party and follow Colqhoun to rescue any remaining survivors.
