Plot Synopsis

Revenge

Tawdry and unconvincing melodrama about a suburban couple who turn to vigilantism following the rape and murder of their pre-teen daughter. What begins as a solemn examination of a growing and complex social problem soon becomes an increasingly hysterical heavy-handed farce due to an atrocious script.

The 10-year-old daughter of a village pub-owner is murdered and an old character living nearby, Seely (Kenneth Griffith), is suspected. However the police release him through lack of evidence but the pub-owner, Jim Radford (James Booth), takes the law into his own hands and begins trailing the recluse. Jim, along with his son and grieving friend Harry, hatch a plan to kidnap the suspect and extract a confession. They bundle Seely into the back of a car, lock him in the cellar of the pub and beat him so heavily they believe they’ve killed him. But events are turned on their head when they realise he is still alive, and that the police have apprehended another suspect.
