Plot Synopsis

Raucous mother-in-lawcomedy based on the long-running StrandTheatre stage success by Philip King and Falkland Cary. British characteractress Peggy Mount got her film break when the stage farce transferred to thebig screen and she dominates the proceedings despite some scene-stealing fromthe peerless Esma Cannon.
Able seaman AlbertTufnell (Ronald Lewis) suffers a major attack of cold feet on the eve of hiswedding to fiancée Shirley (Shirley Eaton) when he realises just what he’sgetting into with Emma Hornet (Peggy Mount) – the potential mother-in-law fromhell. She terrorises her prospective son-in-law and his best man (GordonJackson), and hen-pecked hubby Henry (Cyril Smith) seeks solace by spending somuch time with his ferrets.
