Plot Synopsis

Simon, Simon

Graham Stark’s debut as writer and director was this surreal homage to the silent slapstick of Chaplin the Keystone Kops. A rehearsal for his feature comedy The Magnificent Seven Deadly Sins (1971), this mimed comedy features cameo appearances by British personalities including Peter Sellers, Michael Caine and Morecambe and Wise. It follows the comic misadventures of two ham-fisted council workers, Junkin and Stark, who are given a brand new hydraulic truck platform, and their rivalry with a fireman to woo a typist (Julia Foster). Cue countless crane shots and wacky moments including a WWI dogfight re-enactment.
