Sir Henry at Rawlinson End
Sir Henry at Rawlinson End – 1980 | 71 mins | Comedy | B&W
Plot Synopsis

Unfunny offbeat comedy and genuine slice of bawdy English eccentricity based on the cult album by former Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band member Vivian Stanshall, starring Trevor Howard as a drink-sodden English aristocrat living in a tumbledown country mansion. The ’story’ is both an episodic jumble and a treasury of character playing, especially from Patrick Magee as a priest who enlists the local dramatic club to help perform an exorcism.
The bizarre household of drunken English aristocrat Sir Henry Rawlinson attempts to exorcise a family ghost, that of his brother, who was shot ‘en flagrante delicto’ and must be ‘retrousered’ if his spirit is to rest. Sir Henry staggers about his mansion killing workmen, abusing his servants and tormenting the German soldiers who are still imprisoned in the grounds.
