Plot Synopsis

Spaceways

Spaceways was the first film to cash in on the Hollywood space cycle. The space aspect provided an ingenious twist to the basic crime story.

Dr. Stephen Mitchell (Howard Duff), an American space scientist is working round the clock on a three-stage rocket. Mitchell is accused of killing his wife Vanessa (Cecile Chevreau), and her lover Crenshaw (Andrew Osborn), a Soviet spy, and placing their bodies in an experimental satellite that will orbit the earth until long after he is dead. To clear his name, the scientist goes up in a rocket to recover the satellite. After proving his innocence, on his return, he finds he is free to marry the mathematician Lisa Frank (Eva Bartok) who had stowed away with him – his wife has been killed by Crenshaw during an argument.
