Tell Me Tonight – 1932 | 70 mins | Comedy | B&W

Plot Synopsis

Tell Me Tonight

Arnold Pressburger was responsible for a further series of co-productions between Gaumont and Cine-Allianz Tonfilm, which specialised in multilinguals and remakes, generally musicals or operettas. The first Cine-Allianz/Gaumont co-production was the operetta Tell Me Tonight, filmed in Germany in 1932. This was a remake of a German film and very much a multinational production. The producers were Fellner and Somlo, the director Litvak, a Russian, and the cast included Jan Kiepura, for whom the film was a vehicle, and Jessie Matthews‘s British husband, Sonnie Hale.

Set in Switzerland, an opera singer switches identities with a man on the run, and woos the local Mayor’s daughter.
