That’s Your Funeral – 1972 | 79 mins | Comedy | Colour

Plot Synopsis

That's Your Funeral

Chaotic comedy spin-off more suited to its television sitcom roots than the big screen. The original BBC TV series from which That’s Your Funeral was inspired only ran for one six episodes. The film is notable for a novel approach to the credit’s that involves the crew bring filmed in funeral garb – including Hammer kingpin Michael Carreras.

Bullstrode’s (John Ronane, Dennis Price, Sue Lloyd) and Holroyd’s (Bill Fraser, Raymond Huntley, David Battley) are rival undertakers, one an old-established firm whilst the others are a brash new firm with new and decidedly dodgy ideas. The animosity between the two is intensified when the newcomer’s attempt to use coffins and hearses to smuggle their wares.
