The Curse of the Wraydons
The Curse of the Wraydons – 1946 | 94 mins | Horror, Drama | B&W
Plot Synopsis

Dull and stagey adaptation of Maurice Sandoz’s Victorian play Springheeled Jack, the Terror of London, this is a ridiculously overcooked period melodrama. Todd Slaughter was past his histrionic best and putting on a bit of weight when this period piece based on the 19th-century legend of a leaping prowler was produced.
Philip Wraydon, a murderous Napoleonic spy having been exiled in France returns to England and becomes a crazed inventor with a hatred of all things British. Adopting the name "Springheeled Jack," he seeks revenge on the family of his brother. His nephew, young captain Jack Wraydon, becomes the prime suspect after participating in a duel contrary to King’s regulations. Jack must quickly prove his innocence to the police, by discovering and catching the real killer.
