The Magnificent Two
The Magnificent Two – 1967 | 100 mins | Comedy | Colour
Plot Synopsis

The third and final comedy vehicle for popular British television duo Eric Morecambe and Ernie Wise. The duo’s big screen excursions never matched their tv show success, rather than tap into their intimate and quintessential British humour the film features always situated Eric and Ern in weak-plotted foreign adventures.
Eric and Ernie are two inept travelling toy salesmen who get embroiled in political shenanigans during a trip to South America. After a two-day train journey the duo arrive in Parazuelia and become instantly entangled in a revolution. Because of his resemblance to Torres, the son of dead revolutionary leader, Eric is persuaded by a hot-blooded Latin beauty to masquerade as him – or risk being shot. Eric finds himself in control of the country and participating in official functions. During a concluding battle, the revolution ends when a lingerie-clad female army install Carla (Margit Saad) as president.
