Plot Synopsis

The Man from Toronto

Charming romantic comedy in which two strangers, a widow Leila (Jessie Matthews), and a Canadian bachelor, Fergus (Ian Hunter), are bequeathed a fortune if they marry each other within a year. Leila masquerades as Fergus’ maid and they fall in love, but when he learns of her deception, Fergus angrily returns to Canada – Leila follow him.
