The Night Caller
The Night Caller – 1965 | 85 mins | Sci-Fi | B&W
Plot Synopsis

Well-crafted British sci-fi thriller intelligently scripted by Jim O’Connolly with a harsh warning of the long-term effects of atomic science. An alien mutant from Ganymede, one of Jupiter’s moons, lands near London in order to kidnap women for breeding, thus reviving their ailing race. After receiving an unusually high number of reports of missing women, policeman Detective Hartley (Alfred Burke) begins to search for an explanation. Meanwhile, Jack Costain (John Saxon), an earnest American scientist, investigates the dramatic increase in UFO activity.
A wanted advert in Bikini Girl magazine raises suspicion when young girls responding begin to disappear. The alien is using the moniker Medra, and the police set a trap using a decoy, Anne (Patricia Haines), but Medra proves to be both wily and deadly in equal measure and makes his escape. The authorities eventually corner the alien just as he is on the verge of returning home with his prey.
