The Seventh Survivor
The Seventh Survivor – 1941 | 75 mins | Thriller, War | B&W
Plot Synopsis

Inconsequential but fast-moving espionage thriller that opens in a similar fashion to Alfred Hitchcock’s Lifeboat.
A German agent is one of six passengers onboard a neutral ship bound for Lisbon during WWII. The ship is torpedoed by a German U-boat and the six passengers are joined in their lifeboat by Hartzmann (Austin Trevor), the German captain of the subsequently sunken sub. As Hartzmann is the only person with naval knowledge he takes control of the lifeboat and steers the survivors to a lighthouse manned by irascible keeper Bob (Wally Patch) and his slow-witted assistant Ernie (Ronald Shiner). Once at the lighthouse, Hartzmann radio’s for another U-boat to come and collect him and holds the rest of the passengers at gunpoint whilst awaiting rescue. Meanwhile, the passengers are informed by Hartzmann that there was a Nazi agent and British counter-spy onboard the sunken ship – and the passengers begin speculating who may not be all they seem.
