Three Hats for Lisa
Three Hats for Lisa – 1965 | 99 mins | Musical | Colour
Plot Synopsis

Inoffensive comedy-musical co-written by Carry On regular Talbot Rothwell that was a vehicle for the singing talents of Joe Brown. The picture-postcard London locations are attractively shot in Eastman Colour, as the four Londoners show off their city to a pretty Continental film actress who wants to get away from it all just for a day.
Dock worker Johnny Howjego (Joe Brown) is infatuated with Italian film star Lisa Milan (Sophie Hardy), and when he discovers she is due to arrive at London airport, he enlists best friend Sam (Dave Nelson), girlfriend Flora (Una Stubbs) and taxi driver Sid (Sid James) to accompany him in greeting her. The quartet arrive too late, but whilst driving home in Sid’s taxi they are joined by Lisa – who is bored of the intensive schedule drawn up by her agent, Pepper (Peter Bowles), and instead she wants a break of 24hrs for sightseeing before continuing to promote her new film. Miss Milan has a weakness for hats, and wants her new friends to help in stealing three typically English hats: a policeman’s helmet, a businessman’s bowler and a guardsman’s bearskin.
