Time Bomb – 1953 | 72mins | Thriller | B&W

Plot Synopsis

Time Bomb

Tense thriller featuring Glenn Ford in his first British film, that was released in the U.S. under the title Terror on a Train. It’s an enjoyable modest film only letdown by a failure to explain the saboteur’s motives.

A freight train carrying high explosives is booby-trapped with a hidden time bomb, and a WWII bomb disposal expert, Canadian Major Lyncourt (Glenn Ford), is on hand to locate and try to defuse it before catastrophe strikes. The train is shunted into a siding and police evacuate the Felsworth neighbourhood while the hunt goes on for the saboteur. As time begins to run out Lyncourt is assisted by policeman Jim Warilow (Maurice Denham) in searching for the device, whilst Lyncourt’s wife (Anna Vernon) furiously searches for her missing husband following a row earlier in the day.
