Thank you for your replies. I must remember to post the full article on December's Child elsewhere ('Lost ITV Plays ...' maybe?). I cropped and enlarged the photo of Susan George and Billy the Donkey especially for that post.

A similar story with this. Stephanie Beacham and one of her King Charles spaniels:

From the TVTimes, 2-8 June 1973. That week she was a guest in Special Branch.

Actress Tippi Hedren and her daughter Melanie Griffith at the lion enclosure, London Zoo, 1982:
A lovely photograph. I watched the 1975 film The Downing Pool last night, starring Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, about 25 years after my last viewing. The teenage Melanie played her nymphomaniac daughter and was very good. I only know her from this and Night Moves, plus a few stills and clips of her in Working Girl. Seeing more recent pictures of her with that 'trout pout' saddened me greatly but she's looked much better in recent months. Tippi Hedren was on Loose Women last year I think and in good form. I've always loved Marnie, an underrated film and central performance.

Some months later ... A lot of unfinished business at this thread.

TV writer Charlotte Bingham with her dog Tati (after Jacques?):

From TVTimes, 10th August 1968. Haven't seen her for a while.

Likewise, Katharine Ross, pictured with her cat (circa 1960s?):

Girl in The Graduate and Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid

John Ericson, "Playgirl's Man for January" (1974), with a lion cub:

Cult favourite Anne Francis' sidekick in 60s series Honey West

The lovely but sadly-late Julie Ege at home with her dog, 'circa 1971':

Rainbow-coloured stockings feature in a number of pictures I've found from this period.

Micky Dolenz, of The Monkees, at Edinburgh Zoo with Dali the Indian elephant, 10th May 1979:

Micky has been in my thoughts quite often recently. Obviously the death of fellow Monkee Davy Jones was a terrible shock for us fans. He also turned up in a few episodes of Peyton Place - as a villain! The American star's former wife, Samantha Juste, has been on my mind too. In the latter half of the 1960s she used to 'spin the discs' on Top of the Pops, years before I became a regular viewer.

Here is Barbara Stanwyck on the set of The Violent Men with a chimp that didn't appear in the film, and with Neil the chimp in Escape to Burma, who did!
