I've had three ideas for threads based on computer folders I've put together over the years: the recent 'Unusual Search Results' (not doing very well at the moment), the hopefully forthcoming 'Showbiz Couples', and this one. I've collected quite a lot of pictures of Stars and Animals from various sources, most of which you probably wouldn't find with a random search at Google Images. A lot of the photographs I've discovered are from the photo sites I visit daily and which will always yield something new to treasure. Do others have any nice pictures of actors or actresses they'd like to share?

This is one of my favourites:

12th October 1976: English actress Joanna Lumley, star of ITV's The New Avengers, at

Pinewood Studios with six-week-old lion cub Sultan
    (Photo: Mike Stephens/Central Press)

I missed Joanna's documentary about cats a few months ago. It will be on again, I'm sure.

This one of Audrey Hepburn with (her?) dog is undated and uncaptioned ... unfortunately:

Perhaps fellow-member thatllbetheday, a fan of Audrey's, can help with some details?

Another picture I especially like features Oliver Reed with his cat :

12th September 1960: Actor Oliver Reed reading through his script in preperation for his forthcoming role in

the Hammer Horror film The Curse of the Werewolf, watched by his cat Felix at his home in Wimbledon
    .

COMING SOON: Alan Price, Piper Laurie and Wilfred Pickles - all pictured with animals

EDIT - Almost forgot ... Dedicated to fellow animal-lovers Torinfan and Billy Farmer

    Nice idea Cornershop.

I'll start with an obvious one: Virgia McKenna with Elsa the lioness frpm Born Free

Here's one of Dorothy McGuire with Old Yeller from the film of the same name.

A lovely picture ofClaude Jarman Jr.as Jody with his pet doe in the enigmatic and very moving story of The Yearling which starred Gregory Peck and Jane Wyman.

Elizabeth Taylor as Velvet Brown atop Pie from the movie National Velvet:

Lovely idea for a thread, Cornershop.

There are three particular actresses who immediately spring to mind at the mention of "Stars and Animals".

    The first one is Doris.

No. 2: Beautiful Kim Novak loves animals so much, she married a vet.

They live on a ranch (Oregon?) and raise llamas and horses.

I'm sorry to hear about poor Millie! It is hard to live on a busy road and own a pet.
