I thought I would start off a new joint thread. This one features an actor and an uncredited actress from an episode of "Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased)" entitled, "That's How Murder Snowballs".

Stuart Hoyle plays Kim in the episode. He is the killer that runs amok in fancy dress. Apart from making appearences in the Film "the Battle Of Britain", a "Z Cars" two-parter and an episode of "Hadleigh", there isn't a lot of information on IMDb about him.

The uncredited actress is the dancer who has several scenes with Valerie Leon, including in the cafe with Jeff and Jean. When Valerie Leon says: "It was a shame about Fernandez, he was a nice man" and the blonde says something like: "A nice man! You ask Gloria about him." Those aren't the exact words but that's the gist. I have also seen this blonde in another uncredited appearence in the film "Doctor In Trouble" with Leslie Phillips. Her scenes in this are right at the beginning. Again she has a speaking part. One feature to note is that she has a very sexy, husky voice.

Does anyone have any information about either or both of them?

Wellend, I can't help you with any information, or even identification in the case of the mystery blonde,

but if it's any consolation I don't know anything about Gary Watson and Susan Broderick - not even if

they are alive. And you know how much I think about them. I do have some captures for you though:

Stuart Hoyle as Kim, the choreographer

And as Kim in drag. An unfortunate resemblance to Myra Hindley in this image

    :

As for the girl with Valerie Leon ...

name='cully']A screengrab of the girl would be helpful..

With Mike Pratt (a regular in other actors' threads these days), Valerie Leon and Annette Andre

The dialogue you were trying to remember was as follows:

Randall: You saw it then? Fernandez getting shot I mean?

Valerie Leon: Yes, it was terrible. He was such a nice man.

Mystery blonde: "Nice man"? That's what you think! You ought to ask Gloria. She can tell you one or two things about Fernandez.

Gloria was played by Grazina Frame. I was reminded, while screencapping, that she and Harold Berens were both in this episode, eight years after appearing in The Painted Smile. How about that?! Though they didn't have any scenes together in either, unfortunately.

Thanks, cornershop. She IS sort of familiar from somewhere. The closest guess I can hazard is that she MIGHT be Luan Peters when she would have been about 23. Here are a few pics of her:

Thanks Cornershop for the brilliant screencaps. I was praying when you posted Pauline's last pic from "That's How Murder Snowballs" you might come on to this thread. I never thought of Stuart Hoyle looking like Myra Hindley before but he does! Oh my God! How macarbre is that?

Cully, I think you may be right about Luan Peters. I certainly hope so. Luan appeared in a classic episode of "Fawlty Towers" called "The Psychiatrist". The dancer looks remarkably like her and furthermore, she's got the same sexy, husky voice too. I'd be interested to know what others think.

Many thanks Cornershop and Cully for developing this thread.

I think they all came from her page at avelyman.com, amethyst, but they wouldn't "lift" from the site itself so I simply found them in Google Images under a "Luan Peters" search. There are quite a lot of pics of Luan there.

She may live near me as I once saw her while reading my book at Barnes Pond in SW London. Still a fine looking woman.

Here's another capture of that Mystery Blonde, again with Valerie Leon. I don't think it's Luan Peters:

And one more of Stuart Hoyle as the transvestite choreographer:

cornershop, facially I was slightly MORE convinced by your second pic but...the giveaway, I think, is in the bosom dept.

Still, we learn things every day. I've always thought she was Australian and she isn't. She's English of German ancestry several generations back. Apparently, her excellent Aussie accent in Fawlty Towers has caused this confusion over many years.

Yes I have to admit the chest size is different. I should have noticed that! A right old boob I made of that! I feel a right tit now!

My apologies. I posted the pics and then deleted them from Photobucket not realizing that would delete them here...

Found this thread just now, because wellendcanons mentioned the blonde dancer from Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased) episode "That's How Murder Snowballs".

Here's another picture of her from that episode...

...and a repost of one of Luan Peters from the Actor's compendium site:

Judging by the pictures, we would say, it is the same actress. Same facial structures and nearly the same expression.

So, does anyone have any other pictures of Luan from other productions for further comparison, maybe from Strange Report? According to IMDb she is credited as Karol Keyes there (a name she used as a singer and in some of the earlier productions).

And here's an interesting article about Luan Peters' career with several pictures of her:

gavcrimson: “Viva Peters” - the career of Luan Peters

Still thinking it IS her after reading and looking at the pictures.

    Best regards,

    Hummies

Thanks for the post and the link Hummies. I must confess, the timescale does fit in with the role of the sexy dancer in "Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased)" and I'm starting to wonder if it is Luan again . It was only her chest size that made me wonder in the first place and she could have had something done about that.

The same blonde from "That's How Murder Snowballs" is also in the Leslie Phillips film, "Doctor In Trouble" in an early scene during the film. Great work Hummies.

Here's some more caps of Luan!

I think the Randall and Hopkirk (deceased) dancer is her also, but I'm often fooled and wrong! Maybe the frills on her outfit are hiding her ample assets?

No wonder I hadn't spotted Karol Keyes in "Strange Report". She appears in the episode "Report 3424: EPIDEMIC: 'A Most Curious Crime' " as a ward nurse. Her scene is right at the end when she takes a tray into a private ward where an ailing Hamlyn Gynt is recuperating, under the supervision of Strange and Evelyn. On the tray is a glass of orange and a single red carnation. I would never have recognized her from this scene because she has dark hair in it.

You'd have a hard job recognizing her as the same actress who appeared in the "Hammer" films and "Fawlty Towers".

    Excellent work, wellendcanons and WhoFan.

So this girl is trying to fool us with her hair colour as well as her chest size... Think we should bare in mind that the sexy promotional images WhoFan posted are exactly for the purpose to show off what she's got. And that can be irritating when you compare other photos with it. So would agree with WhoFan who suggested not to let you fool by the costume in Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased). :)

Haven't got the chance of seeing her in other productions. But in articles Luan Peters' husky voice is pointed out, and the dancer has a husky voice, too. Here's a video we found on YouTube: Karol Keyes singing "One in a million". Maybe you are able to recognise her voice, wellendcanons? We are a bit helpless here.

You said you've seen the blonde dancer in Doctor in Trouble. Just googled for Luan Peters and the title and found a picture on Getty Images, showing Simon Dee with four of his fellow cast members, and Luan is among them! See picture description.

Was it Luan Peters who sang (or was dubbed) for the 5000 volts hit in the 70's?

I think it was called "Im on Fire" & the real singer went on to have a solo

career of her own. Her name escapes me I'm afraid!
