I remember him as the butcher coven member in The Witches (1966).
I thought i would start a new Thread for Duncan Lamont, an Actor who i have always liked and enjoyed watching in many films and TV programmes, some of my favourite Duncan Lamont film roles were Major Bell in The Scarlet Blade (1963), Webster in Arabesque (1966), Sladden the Drill Operator in Quatermass And The Pit (1967) and Flight Sergeant Arthur in Battle Of Britain (1969), there are many more films i have enjoyed watching which Duncan Lamont appeared in including Quentin Durward (1955), The 39 Steps (1959), Mutiny On The Bounty (1962), Murder At The Gallop (1963) and The Devil-Ship Pirates (1964), Duncan Lamont also appeared in many TV programmes (most of which i have seen) including The Quatermass Experiment (1953) in which he played the role of doomed astronaut Victor Carroon, The Adventures Of Robin Hood, Danger Man, Z Cars, Gideon's Way, Dixon Of Dock Green, Callan, Randall And Hopkirk Deceased, Man About The House, Doctor Who and Robin's Nest, one of Duncan Lamont's final appearances was in Secret Army (one of my all time favourite TV programmes), he sadly died of a heart attack in 1978, he was working at the time on Hostage an episode of Blake's 7, although he had completed location work for the episode he died before the studio scenes had been shot necessitating a re-mount of the location material in which he appeared and his replacement by the Actor John Abineri, Duncan Lamont was born in Lisbon Portugal but raised in Scotland, he was married to the Irish Actress Patricia Driscoll (played Maid Marian in the 1950's TV series The Adventures Of Robin Hood) with whom he had two children, any other fans of this fine Actor on Brit Movie with memories to share of his many film and TV appearances.

A very solid character actor, always good. In a lot of 1950s films, The Intruder 1953, Burnt Evidence 1954, 39 Steps 1959. It could be a long list. Wasn't he a police detective in something?
I love to watch him in my favourite episode of "Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased)" called "The House On Haunted Hill". He apperaed in "Why They Killed Nolan", which is one of my favourite "Man In A Suitcase" episodes.
Among my favourite films of his are "Murder At The Gallop" and "Passage Home".
wellendcanons.
He's played a few policemen, one of my favourites is his Police Inspector inOriginally Posted by CALF28

Thank God for that!
When I scanned over the "new posts" originally, I read that as 'Norman Lamont'.![]()
Not often associated with comedy, he made a good guest appearance in Man About the House as a doctor come to see a flu-ridden Richard O'Sullivan.
Certainly The Witches is the film that stands out for me. Though no masterpiece, it's an underrated chiller, and I think Duncan Lamont was particularly effective as the sinister village butcher in this.
He was a detective in "A Touch of Larceny" (1959) with James Mason. he was the "heavy" in a very light-hearted film but he added a bit of wry humour to the part. I always thought he brought added value to his films.Originally Posted by CALF28
The Quatermass monster! really scary to my young mind.
Terrific in Robin's Nest as the penny pinching Scottish owner of the restaurant next door!
Just thought of another splendid role. Tholly Tregirls in Poldark.
About time they released The Scarlet Blade on DVD. It would make a nice set with a few other Hammer adventures; maybe Sword of Sherwood Forest and the like.
I think Columbia (Sony) has this one, no? Surprised I haven't heard mention of a release yet.
Here are some screencaps of Duncan Lamont as The Bosun in The Devil-Ship Pirates (1964) also featuring Barry Warren as Don Manuel Rodriguez De Savilla.

That was Frankenstein Created Woman (1967) flynn, though the head in the box was that of his son played by Robert Morris. The female "monster" was anything but,in appearance at least, as the role was taken by Susan Denberg. I think it was execution by guillotine rather than hanging.
Hi,
He had an interesting career. Yes. He did play a detective in a 1950's television series. I think an American detective came to London and worked for Scotland Yard. Duncan Lamont had to show him the ropes. I think it was on commercial television. William Hartnell was a villain in the first episode. Can't think of the series' title. I think a clip of one of his films popped up in an episode of Eastenders. I think someone was supposedly watching him on television in the scene. But for me, I best remember him for frightening the life out of me in the 1953 BBC television serial, The Quatermass Experiment.
