Default Fay Wray - end of an era?

I know she wasn't British, but doesn't the death of Fay Wray mark the end of an era? I mean, is there any STAR Hollywood names from the pre-WWII era still alive (apart from Shirley Temple that is!) ...I don't think Sir John Mills qualifies really. Mickey Rooney....that's about it.

Olivia de Havilland is still with us (88)... and so is Luise Rainer (94).

I saw Luise Rainer on telly a few months ago on a local news programme... she was talking about a guest appearance she had done in a film recently. She said, "It's rather sad, because everyone thinks I'm dead!" She was very much alive, and looked wonderful!

Sad to hear David Raksin, composer for Modern Times (1936), Hound of the Baskervilles (1939), Laura (1940), Force of Evil (1948) died on the same day as Fay

Oops, it seems he actually died on Saturday 7th August - but it wasn't reported until Monday so was in the same news item as the announcement of Fay Wray's death.

The two UK productions that spring to mind are G-B's Bulldog Jack and The Clairvoyant, both very enjoyable films.
