Default Anne Crawford

Why is there no biography and picture on this site for the charming and good-humoured actress Anne Crawford? Whenever I saw her name on the cast list of a film, I would feel pangs of delight because she was individual, versatile and very pretty. I loved her in "Millions Like Us", "They Were Sisters" and "Thunder on the Hill". What a shame she died so young in the 1950s 0f leukemia. Does anyone else share my fomd memories of her?

Yes Anne Crawford was a super actress and to be cut down so young was a terribel thing. I believe she carried on working almost to the last and was appearing in a play in the west end? She was supposed to be a very conscientious and professional actress so it's not a surprise that she kept working right up till the end. Yes I loved her in partnership with another favourite of mine, Eric Portman in "Millions Like Us". I think they both stole the film really with their comedic courtship. "Think of my output Mr Forbes!" How lovely that you remember her as she doesn't seem to get the same space as Pat Roc, Margaret Lockwood and Phyliss Calvert does she?

Bestb Wishes

She was very good in the two films she made with Max .... Night Beat and Daughter of Darkness.

That's rather strange, because according to IMDb, "Wallace Douglas" was her first husband. She was married to her second husband for 17 years at the time of her death in 1956. Her birth name was Imelda Crawford. She must have been very young when she married Wallace Douglas, because she was 18 or 19 when she married the second time!

I see she died from leukemia - like the adorable Kay Kendall at the tender age of 33.

Funny that - I can't see any resemblance at all. Also, her overall "look" is much softer than Joan Crawford's.

Gosh, Moor Larkin, I just clicked on your URL and literally went weak at the knees when that gorgeous man appeared!

Hi Eddie! No, I wasn't disputing what you said. It's just that if Douglas was her previous married name, it's rather baffling. Maybe there's an error in IMDb and he was her second husband, not her first.
