I was lucky to work with her on her Shoestring episode for 13 days down in Western S.M...
She was great fun and we had many laughs..
Also on the show was Chris Jagger..(Mick's brother...) and I played Mr Nasty....
Aitch,
I saw her in a small venue in Dublin in 1995.
A friend of mine who was a big fan followed her around the country and got to know her a bit.She was laughting at some of the awful rooms they gave her to stay!..
He showed me several photo's taken with her including one of her sitting in his car!.
I wouldn't be a hugh fan of her music but I love the hits and her Minx album from the mid 80's.It's available now with 6 bonus tracks.I got it quite cheap from Amazon.

Aitch,
Toyah in Shoestring. Is that Chris Jagger with you Aitch in the scene where you escort Gary Holden from the club and chuck him overboard?

Jubilee is one of my fav british films, and I like Toyah's acting (and her music of course). This is the only movie I've seen with her, but I would like to see some more..
Which movie is her best?
The only films that I've seen her in were both by Derek Jarman - Jubilee (which I've only watched the once many years ago), and The Tempest. The Tempest is very interesting and clearly makes the most of a small budget. And Christopher Biggins.

The girlfriend of a good chum of mine when to School with Toyah, by all accounts she (Toyah) was not the 'hell raiser' so often mentioned, in fact a rather nice girl and very bright.
Those two films alone show that she was a talented actress in her youth. As the Myra Hindley worshipping Mad Medusa she is the perfect out-of-control punk, and she was an excellent Miranda in that eclectic Tempest cast. In fact despite it's weirdness it is one of my favourite film Shakespeare's, purely because it is so different!
The Tempest is possibly my favourite of Toyah's film performances, although Quadrophenia was pretty excellent too. Toyah also appears in excellent episodes of Kavanagh QC, which Michelle has mentioned and Minder. She was good in The Ebony Tower with Laurance Olivier and an episode of Shoestring where she got to perform some of her own music. Also, our wonderful 'Aitch' was in that episode.

I remember reading this TV Times article, although I missed this episode of Minder first time around.
