Strange there's no Di Coupland thread by now,

just did a search, could nt find one.... !

Just realized that...... Spring and Port Wine ... came out in 1970..

yet the movie has a very 1950s feel...

Is it in B & W too... or is my memory playing tricks ?

You are most welcome, and thank you.

Diana was born March 5th, 1932, so she'd only have been about 9 years older than Hannah Gordon who was playing her eldest daughter in "Spring and Port Wine". Diana died November 10th, 2006.

And less than seven years older than her "son" - Rodney Bewes.

She was excellent in Reg Varney's underrated Best Pair Of Legs In The Business.

Sharp eyes will also spot her as one of the neighbours in The Family Way.

I saw her as Volumnia to Toby Stephens' Coriolanus for the RSC. She was very good.

Zlatna, could you if possible do a screen grab of Susan George lying on her bed in skin tight blue jeans in Spring and Port Wine....PLEASE!!

I've never been able to find a still of that scene anywhere and La George never looked more desirable.

    Um sure

Might take a couple of days, however.

Diana was married to Monty Norman. the stage and film composer (and band vocalist in the 1950s) ......

and parts of the Dr No music first appeared in one of Monty's musical shows....

what would you call it .... strawberry blonde ?

wow she was stunning back then.

Hannah Gordon, another blonde, was also in the movie,

she was on telly a lot back in

the 80s, have nt seen her for ages though.

Hannah will show up on telly probably sometime this year in a second series episode of "Moving On" with Corin Redgrave that was shot last November.

There are screen caps of Hannah from "Spring and Port Wine" in the thread for that movie as well as in the thread I started for her recently. Hannah Gordon thread.

But, what the heck, here is another one with Diana.

Diana was a real beauty too... (though perhaps her speaking voice was a bit

    squeaky ?)

She is from Leeds and was on stage singing with a "big band " by the age

    of 14.

"Bless this House" was a great part for her and ran from 1971 to 1976

( probably still running on some sat station even now ! )

I can certainly recall finding her strangely, attractingly, compelling....... given that I was only 14 and she shared a bed with such an unappealing man..............
