Thank you for your replies, Sgt. However, I think you've confused the theme of this thread with http://www.britmovie.co.uk/forums/ac...they-then.html (earliest screen appearance we can find). 'Where Did We See Them First?' refers to our own original memories. Not to be confused with 'Where Have We Seen Them Before?', which is for actors who are less established in our minds.

I'm being introduced to new faces all the time on DVD so, if they're lucky, think of suitable threads to make them subjects - like Frank Tregear at 'Unnoticed Actors and Actresses' and Elizabeth Weaver at 'Unmentioned'. Who's turn is it today, you may ask ...

    Kevin Brennan

This actor first made an impression as one of John Osborne's fellow card players in Get Carter (1971):

You may recall he took an instant dislike to Michael Caine ("Are we here to play cards or talk about the old days?").

Kevin's other film appearances include The Punch and Judy Man, with Tony Hancock, and Loot, where he played a Vicar! I've seen both, though not since the 1980s, and can't remember him, I'm afraid - unlike Get Carter. Does that make sense to those familiar with all three films? The latter is one of my favourites so that does make a difference, I suppose.

He was far more prolific on TV and has turned up many times during my DVD viewing. Adam Adamant Lives! was the first ot them, a few years ago, then Thriller: Come Out, Come Out, Wherever You Are. Since then I've added Espionage (two episodes), The Saint, The Corridor People, ITV Playhouse: Rumour, Budgie, an early episode of Emmerdale Farm, Public Eye, gangster series Out, Dick Turpin and Tales of the Unexpected. Enough to create a thread I should think

There weren't too many recurring roles in his career. The BBC's 1970 adaptation of Ivanhoe, sitcom Romany Jones, and Crossroads would seem to be the most notable. Kevin did, in fact, play two characters in the Midlands Soap - Percy Judd in 1973 and Tom Logan in 1982 - but I have a feeling the IMDb's cast lists are for surviving episodes on the boxset. I suspect there were many more.

Sadly, Kevin Brennan died in 1998, aged 77, but I'm grateful that so many of his credits are available on DVD. An interesting character actor.
