I like David Haig too. I think I first noticed him under tons of make-up and a huge wig as an alien baddie in DOCTOR WHO. I watched him recently in THE 39 STEPS as another baddie, but minus make-up and wig this time!
Hi.
After watching Alan Bennets `Playing sandwiches` last night I really do feel that the actor David Haig deserves his own thread.
`Playing sandwiches` is an incredibly disturbing piece of drama and well done David for acting it out so well! I must admit I nearly switched off as it was making me so uncomfortable watching, which I suppose is the whole point.
Haig has done one heck of a lot of television now and IMO one of our most underated actors.
Hallarious in `The thin blue line`, he is a very diverse actor.
Anyone else agree?

David Haig played an excellent part in an episode of Inspector Morse called Dead On Time, where he was set up to take the fall for a murder charge, though he was innocent. He gave the part a nice desperate edge that kept me transfixed to the screen. A great actor.
wellendcanons.
Here`s his full run down

totally agree FG........
He was superb in The Thick of It
Also memorable in Love on a Branch Line. I once saw him in London sauntering along The Strand in his shorts
Yes I agree fg - he was superb in Playing Sandwiches and I also liked his work in My Boy Jack and The Thin Blue Line.
IMHO, he's the best there is. My favourite actor bar none.
Dennis Lill runs him a close second but I believe we can't really claim him as he's from New Zealand originally.
Glad he has some fans on here. And I agree Didi, he was good in `my boy Jack`.

I remember being struck by him in the 1990 TV series, Portrait of a Marriage, playing Harold Nicolson. Intriguing to see that Kathleen Byron was also in it.

David Haig as Steve Fleming.....The thick of It
He's had excellent reviews for the current revival of The Madness of King George which I think is heading for London
The Madness of George III: Theatre Royal, Bath - Telegraph
It is indeed heading for London as you say Captain.
Wonderful actor.
Superb as Kipling in My Boy Jack.
