I hear that Suzan Farmer has had a rough time of things for many years (if you can believe second-hand gossip), but she was a very good actress and I wish her well.
A TV Times feature about Suzan Farmer from the February 18th - 24th 1978 issue of TV Times.

This is very worrying, didi. I have thought about your post all week, without knowing what it is you've heard. Can you elaborate? I read, in an old post from Smudge, that her contemporary Rachel Herbert, also rarely mentioned these days, had been ill a while back but have no further information. I wish both of them well - and all the other surviving actors who keep my spirits up through their past work.
Colour publicity stills for 'The Saint'
These are from The Sign of the Claw (1965), in which Suzan played, aptly enough, Farmer's daughter Jean Morland:
Supposedly in Malaya!
With Roger Moore as Simon Templar, of course:
She was his leading lady in three other episodes of The Saint and one of The Persuaders.
Playing her father, Don Morland, in The Sign of the Claw was Peter Copley:
Within the last year, I've discovered that Suzan is just two days older than Paul McCartney (they would have made an attractive couple at the time). But within the last week, I learned that another British actress from that era was born a few days before them. Still trying to think who it was. Someone I watched recently ... Not Julia Foster, or Jane Merrow, or Rita Tushingham. I'm too tired now but I keep a note of my daily viewing and will no doubt find out sooner rather than later.
Thank you for the wonderful post Cornershop, some great colour publicity stills from The Saint featuring Suzan Farmer, i do hope Suzan is well, she has always been one of my favourite Actresses, below are the trailers for two films in which Suzan appeared - The Devil-Ship Pirates (1964) and Dracula, Prince Of Darkness (1966).

cornershop and billy - I was told by someone who claims they knew Suzan well that she has a long history of alcohol problems and, sadly, suicide threats. However I cannot be totally clear on whether this is true or simply exaggerated. I too hope she is well and if she has had to face these demons, that she is now in a happier place.
Extremely worrying news, didi, if true. I don't think she's well-known enough for us now to learn any more details and we may have to rely on friends and relatives, like we did with John Nightingale's son (and that was bad news as well). We can but hope for something positive.
The actress I was trying to think of in my previous post is Patricia Brake. I did say I'd 'seen' the mystery lady recently, but this was on a TVTimes cover promoting forgotten Soap Home Tonight, not a TV show I'd been watching. I knew it was a recent sighting. I posted the document at her thread.
Another thing I got wrong is thinking she was born a few days before the stars I mentioned. For the record:
Suzan Farmer was born 16th June 1942, Paul McCartney on the 18th, and Patricia Brake exactly one week later on the 25th.
Off to watch Please Sir!, which Suzan herself appeared in 'a few weeks ago' (on DVD). A disappointingly brief cameo but she still look beautiful.
Try and remember to click Reply rather than 'With Quote', wellend (said in the tone of Joan Sanderson). It looks as if you posted those pictures!

I hope too that Suzan is well and has managed to conquer her demons, providing of course the rumours are true. Thanks Didi for sharing that information.
