Default Dinah Sheridan Autobiography

Some good news!
I was recently in contact with Jenny Hanley, daughter of Jimmy & Dinah Sheridan.
She told me that Dinah is in the process of completing her autobiography. That should be a great read so look out for it.
Apart from great British films i'm also a sucker for biographies on stars past & present.
You guys are the experts - please advise which books in your opinions are the very best bio's & reference books on Brit stars & the British film industry that you've read.
'Halliwells'comes to mind but are there any dedicated solely to Brit stars & films that anyone can recommend?
With luck many titles may still be available.

I will of course have to mention Michael Powell's two volume autobiography "A Life in Movies" and "Million Dollar Movie".

It covers the whole range of British film-making that he worked through, from the old silent days up to the sixties & seventies.

It name-checks just about everyone who was anyone (Powell worked with most of them).

But don't take all his stories as gospel truth. Sometimes he "edited" his memories slightly to make it more as he wished it had been rather than as it actually was. We've sometimes had the stories denied or contradicted by other people who were there.

They are both mighty tomes but they are a fascinating read about a great film-maker at the height of his powers at the time when the British film industry was at its height.

David Quinlan's "British Sound Films" is a truly superb reference book.

Does anyone know anything about Ms Sheridan's life in south east Kent (UK). She lived locally to Folkestone and must have taken part in local social circles. I'd be interested in any leads that I can follow up.

Update - she lived in Monks Horton and her parents had a house in Hythe. Does it ring any bells boys?
